A brief synopsis of me

I am a Colorado-based biogeochemist, originally from New York City. I did my undergraduate degree at Grinnell College, in Grinnell, Iowa, where I majored in Biology and concentrated in Environmental Science. After college I moved to the Vail Valley in Colorado to work at the environmental education nonprofit Walking Mountains Science Center. After some time in the mountains, I moved down to the Front Range for my graduate studies. I got my PhD in Ecology at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and was advised by Dr. Joe von Fischer. After completing my degree, I did a postdoc with Dr. Wendy Yang at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and now I am a research scientist in Dr. Merritt Turetsky's lab at University of Colorado Boulder. I seek to balance my passion for research with my commitments to providing high-quality teaching and mentoring, and communicating my research transparently and accessibly. I have instructed a variety of classes, mentored  students and research technicians, and cultivated my science communication and public speaking skills. Please see my CV for additional details.
